How to reduce trigger pull on CZ Scorpion Evo 3

CZ Scorpion Evo was originally designed as service firearm. That is why the factory trigger pull is relatively heavy — around 5 kg.

For civilian or competitive use, replacing the original spring with a lighter trigger spring can significantly improve handling. Two options are available: 2.5 kg and 2 kg:

In this guide I will show you how to replace the trigger spring, so that you can achieve lighter trigger pull and more comfortable shooting.

Installation of lighter trigger spring on CZ Scorpion Evo

What will you need

  • 2.5 mm (3/32") and 5 mm (3/16") punches
  • 1.5 mm (1/16") and 3 mm (1/8") Allen keys
  • Vise (recommended)

Step by step guide

  1. Make sure you have an empty chamber and leave the bolt open.
  2. Press out the retaining pin and remove the lower receiver.
  3. Use a 3 mm Allen key to remove the trigger group by loosening the screw.
  4. Once the screw is out, switch the safety to "Fire" — this will expose a grub screw.
  5. Remove the grub screw with a 1.5 mm Allen key.
  6. Remove the safety lever and pull out the safety shaft.
  7. Extract the trigger group, drop the hammer, place the trigger group in a vise, and apply light pressure.
  8. Use a 5 mm punch to slightly push out the hammer pin, releasing the hammer and hammer spring.
  9. Press on the trigger spring, then remove the pin and lever.
  10. Push out the other pin with a 2.5 mm punch, holding the disconnector to prevent the spring from ejecting.
  11. Replace both springs, reassemble the trigger group as shown in the video, and reinstall it into the firearm.
