Picatinny red dot mounts

A Picatinny red dot mount lets you put a pistol red dot on any gun with a Picatinny rail, such as a rifle, carbine or shotgun. The mount has the footprint of your red dot on top and a Picatinny clamp below. You can choose mounts from Outer Impact, Vector Optics, Contessa, Holosun, Olight, C-More and Gunexpert.

Types of mounts

• Flat mounts from Holosun for the Trijicon RMR and Holosun 509T footprints, from Olight for the RMR, from C-More for the C-More RTS and from Vector Optics for the Aimpoint Acro.
• Raiser mounts lift the red dot so you can see it with your head up. Vector Optics makes them 19 mm high for the Aimpoint Acro, 28 mm high for the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc and Docter, and 32 mm high for the C-More RTS. Olight makes a 21 mm raiser for the RMR.
• QD mounts from Contessa in steel with an auto safety lock, for the Aimpoint Micro, C-More RTS, Holosun 509T, Leupold DPP, Trijicon RMR and Docter. You mount them without tools.
• Adjustable co-witness mounts from Outer Impact, for the Aimpoint Micro, Trijicon MRO and type C footprints. You set the height so the red dot lines up with your iron sights.
• 45 degree offset mounts from Outer Impact for the same footprints. They put a red dot next to your scope.
• A Gunexpert steel mount for the Trijicon ACOG with an offset Picatinny base.

Choosing a mount

1. Find the footprint of your red dot.
2. Decide the height. A flat mount keeps the red dot low, a raiser suits a tall stock or a magnifier behind the red dot.
3. Decide if you need to remove it often. A QD mount comes off without tools.
